Character and Citizenship Education (CCE)
At Mee Toh School, we view character development as akin to nurturing a seed into a thriving plant. We recognise that each child is unique, requiring time, patience, and a supportive community to foster their holistic growth and unlock their full potential.
Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) forms the cornerstone of our educational philosophy, permeating every aspect of school life—both academic and non-academic. This approach ensures that CCE is not confined to a single subject or time slot, but is a continuous process woven into the fabric of our students' daily experiences.
Our CCE programme is firmly rooted in the core values set forth by the Ministry of Education, while also being guided by our school's vision, mission, and motto: Compassion, Conscience, Purity & Righteousness. These principles serve as a moral compass, steering our students towards becoming responsible, empathetic, and principled individuals ready to contribute positively to society.

HIGHLIGHTS
Form Teachers’ Guidance Period (FTGP)
Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP) at our school employs authentic contexts to explicitly teach and reinforce essential social-emotional skills. These lessons are firmly anchored in values and citizenship dispositions, ensuring a holistic approach to character development.
During FTGP, we address six key Content Areas of Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) in a developmentally appropriate manner:

These carefully structured lessons serve a dual purpose: they strengthen positive Teacher-Student Relationships (TSR) and foster supportive peer interactions. This approach creates a nurturing environment where students feel valued and understood.
Importantly, we allocate dedicated time within FTGP for Form Teachers to engage in individual conversations with students. These one-on-one interactions provide valuable opportunities for personalised guidance, allowing teachers to better understand and support each student's unique needs and aspirations.
Through FTGP, we aim to equip our students with the social-emotional competencies and values necessary for navigating life's challenges and becoming responsible, empathetic citizens.
Character and Citizenship Education-Mother Tongue (CCE-MTL)
Character and Citizenship Education in Mother Tongue Languages (CCE-MTL) at Mee Toh School focuses on the explicit teaching of our R3ICH values (Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, Care and Harmony) within the broader CCE framework. We firmly believe that every Mee Tohian has the potential for growth and development through a nurturing environment and tailored school programmes.
Our CCE-MTL curriculum provides students with ample opportunities to:

National Education (NE) and Social Studies (SS)
National Education (NE) is an integral part of our school's citizenship programme. Through NE, Mee Tohians experience the Singapore story firsthand, fostering a strong national identity and a spirit of unity.
